EST Energetics GmbH opens state-of-the-art recycling building in the presence of Minister President Kretschmer

On April 9, EST Energetics GmbH successfully inaugurated its new processing building in Rothenburg/Oberlausitz, concluding ten months of intensive construction work. With the completion of this project, the company is taking its treatment and recycling processes to a new level of efficiency and innovation.

Following a fire in August 2022, which caused significant damage to the original building, a new one became necessary. From now on, the new building will play a vital role in EST's recycling process by facilitating the sorting and forwarding of materials such as batteries, airbags and ammunition for thermal recycling.

State-of-the-art technology and the highest safety standards

The new building also establishes new standards with its state-of-the-art technology and the highest safety measures. The successful implementation of advanced safety solutions such as state-of-the-art fire barriers and the final approval by all relevant experts will ensure a safe operation.

Minister President Kretschmer honors the progress

Minister President Michael Kretschmer, present at the inauguration ceremony, applauded EST Energetics GmbH's commitment and innovative strength: “A reliable supply of raw materials is essential for a strong Saxon economy. The circular economy is a vital driver for Saxony, leading towards a resource-efficient economy and enhancing the resilience of local companies. This project shows how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. EST Energetics is a role model for future-oriented business in Saxony.”

Thanks to all involved in the construction process

Managing Directors Ramón Kroh and Stefan Blümel thanked all those who were involved in the construction process and especially the company's employees for their commitment. "The recommissioning of this building is a major milestone for us. With the latest technology and under the strictest safety standards, we are now recycling even more efficiently," said Kroh.

The recommissioning of the processing building demonstrates the resilience and continued commitment of EST Energetics GmbH to sustainable recycling and underlines its leading role in the industry.
